NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A memorial service is scheduled Friday for a veteran New Orleans police officer killed in a car wreck in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The service for Lt. Chris Cambiotti will be held at St. Louis Cathedral from 10 a.m. to noon. A funeral Mass will immediately follow.
The 42-year-old Cambiotti was thrown from the passenger seat of a car that ran off U.S. Highway 49 after being hit by an SUV on Oct. 20. The driver of the car received minor injuries in the accident. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
A memorial fund has been established at Gulf Coast Bank & Trust for Cambiotti, a 15-year veteran of the department.
