ONTARIO, California – Safariland announced today that Team Safariland members Dave  and Jodi Ruby, multi triathlon-champions, competed on their Kona 29er bikes at the 2012 XTERRA World Championships which will be televised on several stations throughout the US from March through June.  Dave Ruby was on the podium as the first American male to victory and placed fifth place overall in the male 50-54 division while Jodi also stood on the podium placing fifth overall in the female 50-54 division.

“As part of the product testing and R&D team for the Safariland Patrol Bike brand, I am constantly testing the bikes to the limit; the XTERRA World Championships is the ultimate test, said Dave Ruby. Having the Safariland/Kona 29er team bike as my choice of ride at the XTERRA World Championship was a great decision, especially when I was standing on the podium as the only American among the Europeans.”

With so much experience riding on rugged terrain, Dave and Jodi actively test products for the Safariland/Kona patrol bike line. “We’ve tested anything and everything in regards to the Safariland/Kona bike and products and it’s great to provide our input to promote a safe and comfortable ride for officers,” said Jodi.

The Safariland/Kona Patrol Bike features the Shimano 30-speed drivetrain with SLX derailleur for quick and easy gear shifting. It is constructed of durable Kona Race Light 7005 aluminium. Roxshox high-performance forks, and hydraulic disc brakes for excellent stopping power.
