Autoliv’s patented NOPTIC^TM thermal imager provides low cost panning ability for actual law enforcement situations. A vehicle mounted thermal imager is a proven tool for law enforcement. The keys to a useful vehicle mounted thermal imager, is low cost as well as its ability to pan across a given area while the vehicle is parked. If the camera is in a “fixed” mount, it can only provide the same one scene unless you move the vehicle. This obviously defeats the covert surveillance technique. Utilizing a NOPTIC camera from inside the safety and comfort of the vehicle, the officer can pan a scene without giving away his/her position by moving the vehicle. The NOPTIC has the added benefit of being perfectly aligned with the spotlight so that it is exactly positioned on the target if the light is tactically needed.
