FEATURED IN PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS
Winston Salem, N.C. -- InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software used by government agencies as well as private sector businesses, is pleased to announce today that John McNulty has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, effectively immediately. Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski will retain his role as Executive Chairman and continue to focus on the Company’s overall growth strategy.
Mr. McNulty brings over 40 years of success in the technology industry having held leadership positions including General Manager, Senior VP, President, CEO and Chairman of companies in the software, semi-conductor, hardware, networking, and communications industries. Most recently, for the nine years from mid 1999 to 2008, he served as Chairman, President and CEO of Secure Computing Corporation, a NASDAQ company acquired in November 2008 by McAfee Corporation.
"We are extremely pleased to have John join InterAct as CEO," said Andrew J "Flip" Filipowski, executive chairman of InterAct Public Safety Systems. "John will be instrumental in ensuring InterAct's continued rapid growth as a leader in the public safety software industry. His experience in both public and private company mergers and acquisitions, as well as dealing with the demands of public company compliance, governance and managing investor and Wall Street relations will drive our organization forward and serve our growth strategy extremely well."
Before joining Secure Computing, John served for two years as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Services and Business Development at Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc., a leading independent software company in computer telephony integration acquired by Acatel. Prior to Genesys, John's experience includes two distinguished four-year careers at Intel Corporation, where he was General Manager of Memory and Micro Systems as well as being the individual who established their Enterprise Systems Division. He also held positions as President and CEO of Rose Communications, a start up in the wireless PBX field sold to Allen Telecom, and President and CEO of Integrated Solutions, where he turned around the company from a loss to profitability and positive cash flow, which was eventually acquired by a competitor.
"Joining InterAct is a fantastic opportunity for me," said John McNulty, CEO, InterAct Public Safety Systems. "As the largest public safety software company on record, with over 2,000 customers on three different continents, the Company is extremely well positioned to leverage its leadership position and expand operations in the new decade.
