Web Site for Mobile-Device Examiners

Teel Technologies has launched mobileforensicscentral.com, a free search and information portal created to assist investigators in the emerging field of mobile-device forensic analysis. The site’s search feature enables users to query device models for compatible forensic software and tools. The site generates a report detailing the tools and data users can pull. The site also serves as an information portal, offering current industry news, education resources for newcomers and software update announcements.

Bill Teel of Teel Technologies stated, “Considering how quickly mobile devices are evolving and the constant stream of new model introductions, updates are issued all the time from the mobile-forensic solution providers. For the digital examiner, trying to keep up is practically impossible. Our job is to stay on top of the industry’s evolution and present the data to the examiner in an easy-to-use web interface.”  Visit the site at

Training Courses on CD

The Backup Training Corporation, a private provider of in-service law enforcement training courses, now offers its computer-based courses free of charge to any sworn officer in the United States. (A $3 per-course charge covers shipping and handling fees.) Partnerships with several colleges provide the funding for the training. The company also offers its CD magazine, The Backup CD Publication, free of charge.

Al Baker, a 25-year veteran of the NYPD and inventor of the Baker Batshield, instructs the company’s updated “Patrol Response to Active Shooters” course. The new course gives information on Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD), necessary equipment to survive an active shooter and correct deployment and evacuation formations to keep you and your team safe.
