From the Editor: Talkin' Shop on Internet Radio

Police layoffs and training were two topics covered on The Cop Doc Blogtalk Internet Radio Show.

Below 100: Let’s Get It Done!

There are five key elements of the Below 100 Project. If you encourage each one, you can play a key role in decreasing the number of officer deaths to historic lows.

Tune In: The Cop Doc Blogtalk Internet Radio

The police website gurus talk trends and issues in policing, and how they're addressing them.

Below 100: It Can Be Done

In recent years, about 150 officers have been killed annually on the job. If you look at the cases individually, you’ll find a disturbing truth: In many instances, the behavior that led to the death might have been corrected by a vigilant supervisor. Whether it’s wearing a vest, buckling a seatbelt or waiting for back up, trainers and supervisors must correct habits that can lead to more death in our ranks.

What’s Important

There’s no doubt in my mind that the latest book from respected trainer Brian Willis, If I Knew Then: Life Lessons from Cops on the Street, will prove to be a valuable resource for every trainer and supervisor out there.
