Lt. Jim Glennon

Lt. Jim Glennon, a third generation LEO, retired from the Lombard, Ill. PD after 29 years of service. Rising to the rank of lieutenant, he commanded both patrol and the Investigations Unit. In 1998, he was selected as the first Commander of Investigations for the newly formed DuPage County Major Crimes (Homicide) Task Force.

Lt. Glennon has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Law Enforcement Justice Administration. A graduate of the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University, Jim was elected class president, received the prestigious Kreml Leadership Award and then immediately joined the adjunct staff. Jim was the lead instructor and curriculum director for the Calibre Press Street Survival Seminar.

Jim is the co-owner of LifeLine Training and specializes in teaching courses in: communication (Arresting Communication), leadership (Finding the Leader in You) and officer safety (Ultimate Survival Instincts).

He is also an award winning columnist (MAGGIE Award) and authored the book – ARRESTING COMMUNICATION: Essential Interaction Skills for Law Enforcement.  In 2010 Lawofficer.com named Arresting Communication one of the “ten best law enforcement books of all time.”
