Doing your job well depends on your ability to see clearly, and sometimes that requires a little back-up—the help of a flashlight. From LEDs small enough to fit in your shirt pocket to water-resistant flashlights, there are options that will meet any of your illumination needs.
Pelican Products’ new MityLite 1965 LED flashlight is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket, yet bright enough to illuminate your work area. Engineered with a next-generation LED, the flashlight has a peak beam intensity of 21 lumens and is powered by two AAA batteries that produce more than four hours of light. The 1965 LED sports a tough polymer construction, and it can be used in environments where flammable gases, dusts and fibers are present. With a water-, gas- and dust-resistant O-ring seal, it weighs 1.9 oz. and features an integrated polymer pocket clip. The flashlight is available in black and safety yellow. Surefire’s 6PX Tactical provides a single-output level—a penetrating 200-lumen beam. It features a high-strength aerospace aluminum body that’s been hard anodized to military specifications and Surefire’s classic tactical tailcap switch—press for momentary-on; twist for constant-on. Like its single-output brother, the G2X Tactical also provides a brilliant, penetrating 200-lumen beam. But the G2X features a rugged Nitrolon polymer body that’s lightweight and more comfortable to handle in extremely cold weather. It also uses Surefire’s classic tactical tailcap switch. At 6 inches long, Coast Products’ water-resistant M7R flashlight is compact but powerful. It has a peak output of 220 lumens and has a distance range of 837 feet. The microcontroller switch system allows users to dial in the exact amount of light needed for any application, and the flashlight also has a strobe mode. The rechargeable lithium ion battery allows the M7R to function for 12 hours on high power and 20 hours on low power. The innovative magnetic charging system recharges the battery while inside of the flashlight. The M7R weighs 7.2 ounces and is available in black.

Xenonics’ NightHunter ONE flashlight delivers both visible (white) and covert infrared (with optional filter) light to illuminate objects up to 1.5 miles away. The beam can be easily adjusted and provides flood lighting with no “black hole” in the beam to obstruct the field-of-view. The NightHunter ONE has an internal rechargeable battery that provides 60 minutes of continuous operation at high power or 90 minutes at low power.
