National Police Week 2011: Candlelight Vigil

The 2011 NLEOMF Candlelight Vigil honored 316 officers who died in the line of duty, including 152 who died in 2010—an increase of nearly 25% over the previous year. There are now 19,298 names on the wall.
Approximately 22,000 people attended the event, which was led by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.
“It was wall to wall and across the street, spilling out everywhere,” said Law Officer Editor-in-Chief Dale Stockton. “As you can see from these photos, this is a very moving event.” PHOTOS BY DALE STOCKTON
