Essentially, the Ranger is a cross between a traffic radar and a lidar (laser) unit. Its microwave beam allows the operator to know the exact distance of each target it measures. The product also has a SafetyZone feature that, when activated, continuously monitors the area behind the parked patrol vehicle, searching for drivers who fail to slow down in response to the vehicle’s emergency lights. If danger is detected, the Ranger activates a warning signal to alert the officer while they’re outside their vehicle.
