This class is intended for current firearms instructors. Students will be taught how to teach and safely employ the Patrol Rifle for patrol personnel. At the end of the class, students will have the necessary knowledge and skill set to teach a Patrol Rifle Operator course. Skills to be taught:

  • Firearms Safety
  • Safe Range Set Up and Instruction
  • Precision Shooting (Pistol / Rifle)
  • Battle Sight Zero Procedures
  • Shooting Positions (Standard and Non-Standard)
  • Target Identification and Discrimination
  • Instructional Techniques
  • Lesson Plan Development
  • Shooting Plan Development

 

EQUIPMENT: Rifle with sling, at least 2 magazines and 300 rounds of rifle ammunition. WOLF or any steel-jacketed ammunition is NOT permitted on the range. Pistol with appropriate holster, at least 2 magazines with 150 practice rounds. Wrap around eye protection, hearing protection, knee pads, baseball cap, BDU type clothing and inclement weather gear. A small notebook for taking notes is also required. Students should pack a lunch.
