On the night of Oct. 29, Escambia County Sheriff Deputies responded to a disturbance call that was upgraded en route to a home invasion/ hostage situation. Upon entering the residence, the three responding deputies were shot. Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Cassidy remains in critical condition. He's received more than 200 units of blood during emergency surgeries, but they need more to keep him going.
If you have Type-O positive or negative blood and can donate in Jackson County, this is urgent. Give Deputy Cassidy a fighting chance. Please pass this information along to anyone you know in the area. And if you have another blood type, donate anyway. The blood bank there is critically low.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a blood drive to replenish the blood used to sustain his life during surgery. The blood mobile will be located at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, November 3rd from 7a.m. until 1p.m. and then at Evangel Worship Center located at 2645 Pebble Hill Rd. in Marianna, Fla., starting at 4 p.m. For those who are unable to go to either location they can make a blood donation at the Southeastern Community Blood Center located at 2503 Commercial Park Dr., also in Marianna, from 1p.m. until 3 p.m.
Thank you to the officers how brought this to our attention on our Facebook page and our thoughts will be with Deputy Cassidy and his family.
