Making New-Age Plans

Digital pre-plans can aid the overall response from the fire service. They can be used while en route to and while on scene and allow responders to have updated building plans at their fingertips—information that can alert firefighters to pre-existing hazards and save lives. In late 2008, North Charleston (S.C.) Fire Department (NCFD) implemented a mobile digital pre-plan system, as well as a dispatching and mapping program.
