NYPD Officer In Grave Condition

A New York City police officer was hospitalized and underwent surgery after being hit by a motorcycle while he was chasing after some suspected car thieves. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said 31-year-old Carlos Olmedo was in "very grave condition" on Sunday at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn and had undergone surgery to reduce pressure on his brain.
