Video Contradicts NJ Assemblyman's Claim Trooper Disrespected Him

Thursday, December 6, 2012

TRENTON, N.J. (NJ.com) -- On Feb. 21, state Assemblyman Nelson Albano (D-Cumberland) was pulled over for going 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 29 just before the tunnel heading north toward the Statehouse in Trenton. Six days after the stop, Albano wrote a scathing letter to State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes alleging he was "humiliated, embarrassed and disrespected" by the trooper's "charade." But a State Police video of the stop recently obtained by The Star-Ledger tells a different story from the one the lawmaker described.
