License Plate Readers (LPRs) are quickly becoming the must-have law enforcement tool. The value of LPRs is rapidly being proved in patrol and investigations, as well as mutual aid situations. In this webcast, Det. Sgt. Patrick J. Ryder will share investigative and case examples, and outline how to establish basic protocols for:

  • The care and maintenance of LPR equipment;
  • Access, collection, storage and retention of LPR data;
  • Ensuring the security of the data in and around the LPR system; and
  • Ensuring the agency develops a program for in-service training, maintains an adequate number of trainers and documents all training.
